The dress

The Amrita Dress is the first wrap dress Daniele designed, and she surely will become a favorite. Elegant yet very comfortable, the dress is perfect for any occasion. Its v-neck, highlighted by a topstitched strip, makes it very feminine while referring to the traditional Indian jackets. The adjustable waist with ties and smock detail makes it very easy to wear. The dress is lined above the knee with a delicate made in France silk fabric. The sleeves are large and puffy, and ends at the wrist level with an elastic.

This spectacular dress is named after Amrita Devi, a fearless Bishnoi Indian woman who resisted, in 1730, the cutting down of khejri sacred trees, among others, by the king’s men, preferring instead to lay down her own lives rather than allow the desecration of the environment. Her supreme sacrifice had inspired environmental actions such as the Chipko movement in India in the late seventies.

This piece of exceptional quality will travel throughout the years in peace, and so to be passed down to your daughters, nieces, sisters… For a new life!
