WELCOME THE FRESH AIR!

Drying your laundry outside encourages your garments to smell like freshly cut grass and removes bad bacteria and unpleasant smells.

(Try to hang your garments on a line or even lay them out on a hedge, whatever is best for you).

The sunlight can also help purify and lighten white fabrics and even remove stains over time.

If you haven’t outdoor space, then of course it is possible to dry them inside. This is best done next to a window or room where there is air-flow, allowing you to refresh and dry your garments. In winter this can also help to humidify the air indoors (that is often too dry with our modern heating) and in summer it refreshes the room!

THE GOLDEN RULES OF IRONING

. Establishing the correct temperature is essential. For silk and viscose, the iron must be set at a low temperature. For cotton and linen, higher temperatures. Take your time and test before passing the iron completely over your garment.

.Moisture is your friend while ironing. By placing a slightly damp, clean piece of fabric (press-cloth) between your garment and the iron, this allows you to take care of your clothing.

.Iron your beloved dress inside out!

TAKING CARE OF YOUR DELICATE FABRICS

Here’s our tips on how to look after your delicate fabrics.

Your Lena Klar viscose dresses need to be treated with a lot of care. Hand-wash with your home-made laundry liquid and cold water – 20° maximum. Gently massage the garment for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water.Hang out to dry on a clothes hanger so that it keeps its shape.
Iron on a low-heat, inside-out, using a damp cloth in between the iron and your garment.

Your silk dresses need to be treated in a similar way to viscose, with a lot of care. Ideally hand-washed cold. You can remove any water by placing your garment in a towel and gently pressing to absorb the excess. This helps avoid any stretching or twisting.Hang out to dry on a clothes hanger so that it keeps its shape.

Your cotton knitted dresses. It’s essential that they are washed in cool/luke warm water. They must be dipped in the water a few minutes and then rinsed in cold water. It’s best not to stretch the dress, even lightly but to create the form before drying – as it will stay like that once dry.
No need to iron cotton knitted dresses if the washing and drying has been carried out with care.
